Can I have a tour of your Service?

Tours can only be conducted if we have positions available for your child and they are by appointment only. The reason being is to ensure the privacy of the children in our care by limiting the number of visitors who walk through our Service. Additionally, this is beneficial in allowing enough time to show you through our Service and to answer all your questions at an appropriate time of the day (eg when children aren’t sleeping or eating). If we have a position for your child and proceed to book a tour, we will hold those positions for you until you’ve had your tour.

How can I join your waitlist?

Accepted Answer

If we don’t currently have any vacancies, you have the option of joining our waitlist. This consists of filling out a Pre-Enrolment Form which provides us with the basic details about yourself and your child. No fee is required to be placed on our waitlist. Please call us and we can email you our pre-enrolment form for you to complete or complete the info on the contact us page and we will be in touch.

Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee when positions may become available. We recommend joining the waitlist well in advance prior to your desired start date, as you will have a more likely chance of being offered a position. You will also have a better chance with being offered a position if you opt to start at the beginning of the year rather than in the middle or at the end as we tend to be fully booked from March onwards or have limited vacancies.

Question 3

What happens after I’ve had a tour?

Once we have given you a tour of our Service, we will give you a week to decide if we are the best Service for your child before paying a bond to secure your position. The bond consists of $400 per family (no Subsidy) which is non-refundable if you have a change of mind and your child doesn’t start with us. After you have paid your bond, we will provide you with the required paperwork for you to complete and return prior to your Orientation Day.

What is your Enrolment Process?

As per our policy, we can only hold available positions for 4 weeks. While its great that some families wish to plan ahead and enquire 6-12 months in advance, unfortunately we cannot hold a position for this long. In this situation we recommend joining our waitlist and contacting us 4 weeks prior to your desired start date to see what we have available. For those who enquire about positions for the new year, we start this enrolment process every September. This is when we look at our availability and contact those on our waitlists who wish to start in January or February the following year and book them in for a tour and start the enrolment process. This is why we recommend joining our waitlist well in advance as it is a first in best dressed basis.

Question 5

What is the difference between your Long Day, Short Day, and Pre-School sessions?

The only difference between these three sessions is the hours of attendance. All children have access to the same learning routines and meal breaks (with the exception of Short Day and Pre-School missing out on Breakfast and Late Afternoon Tea due to the shorter hours). These sessions are available to suit every families needs- for example, long hours for those who need to travel for work, and short hours for those who need a day to get errands done without children. A lot of people get confused thinking that our Pre-School session means that it’s a specific Preschool program for the children, when it’s really just a shorter session offered for our families who are only approved for 24 hours of CCS a fortnight from Centrelink.

Are you a Government run Pre-School?

No, we are privately owned but we do prepare children for Kindergarten. All Long Day Care Centres, Family Day Care Centres, Child Care Centres, Pre-Schools, Prep-Schools etc legally must have an Educational/ School Readiness program for all ages (0-6) as outlined by ACECQA. Although we have different names, we all provide the same service for your children.

What is Child Care Subsidy?

We are an approved service provider for the Child Care Subsidy, which is the main way the Government assists families with their Child Care fees.
The Child Care Subsidy that commenced on 2nd July 2018 is paid directly to the Service and the families pay the remaining gap of the fees to the Service as well.
An individual claim must be submitted for each child in your family prior to them starting care. It is vital that this is done well in advance (approx. a month) otherwise you may be faced with having to pay full fees while Centrelink approves your claim (which can take several weeks).

Question 8

What happens at Orientation?

Before your child starts at our Centre, we ask you and your child to come and spend some time with us for an Orientation, which is usually booked the week prior to your child’s start date and it only goes for about an hour. This can help to make your child’s first day less daunting, particularly if they are new to childcare.
Orientation is a process to enable you to share important information on a one-to-one basis with the teachers who are caring for your child. This is important for the teachers from an educational perspective, and also serves to ensure for the smooth transition from home to the Centre for you and your child.
Areas covered will be specific to your child, and may include cultural identity, nationality, religious beliefs, routines and practices followed at home. Information such as your child’s fears, comforters, likes/dislikes, routines or their favourite pastimes may also be discussed, as well as what goals and objectives you have for your child’s education and development while in our care.
